“The ‘First Lady of Song’ gets terrific backing by the Tommy Flanagan Quartet plus one of the top jazz trumpet players, Roy Eldridge, who goes into a rocking jam session with Ella on ‘Stomping at the Savoy.’”

“The Charlie Byrd trio gets the show off to a very smooth start, with Charlie varying the pace by doing an Albeniz Spanish dance arranged for guitar.”

Then comes one of the top sax men of intimate jazz, Stan Getz, with his quartet, one of the best in the business. Just before intermission the Byrd Trio joins the quartet in a number from the hit Getz-Byrd album. It’s a show no jazz fan should miss.”
